With Summer coming into full swing, San Diego is making sure to have a full line up of events that will keep you busy during the entire season. Here are the top three things to go and do during San Diego’s best season.
#3 25th Annual Taste of Gaslamp
Location: 538 L Street, San Diego, CA

Karl Strauss is presenting San Diego’s original culinary tour. This is the 25th year in a row that this amazing event will be going on. They will have the astounding dining options on display from all parts of the Gaslamp Quarter. General Admission tickets start at $35 and become $45 the day of. There will be over 25+ different restaurants to choose from 1PM to 4PM on a self-guided walking tour with a beer garden featuring a variety of brews from Karl Strauss.
#2 Del Mar Racing Season
Location: Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014

The horse racing in San Diego takes place where the “turf meets the surf” at Del Mar Racetrack. Every summer, fans from all over the world flood the track to wager on their favorite horses. Join the magic and nostalgia of this long-lived horse racing tradition. The races run five days a week except on Monday and Tuesday. The post time for most days is at 2pm and on Fridays, it begins at 4pm. Alongside all of the racing festivities, there is also a summer concert series on the improved Seaside Stage.
#1 Big Bay Boom
Location: San Diego Bay
Time: July 4, 2019
Every year right in San Diego Harbor, on the Fourth of July San Diego hosts a visual spectacle of fireworks that will be discharged simultaneously from barges located at all corners of the bay. The impressive choreographed display will last about 17 minutes. This is the biggest fireworks show in San Diego County. You can watch the show on Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, Seaport Village, and the Coronado Ferry Landing.
