At 3.5 miles (5.6 clicks/kilometers) long, The Pacific Beach boardwalk in San Diego is over twice as long, 3 times as safe and 10 times as amazing as its rival, Los Angeles’ Venice Beach Boardwalk, which is 126-miles (202.5 clicks/kilometers) north.

At the southern end of the Pacific Beach boardwalk is an amazing place called Mission Beach.

Mission Beach, San Diego

Mission Beach is one of the most popular beaches in San Diego. It’s also your typical “all-American” type of beach.

Think “Baywatch”. Yes, youngsters, we are talking about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new feature film that’s coming out in Summer 2017, but also – for the “more experienced” generation – about David Hasselhoff & Pam Anderson’s Baywatch TV series that was produced from 1989 – 2001. Bikinis, roller-coasters, surfers, sailboats, more bikinis, ice cream, delicious food, skateboarders, bicycles… and did we mention bikinis?

The pride & joy of Mission Beach is Belmont Park amusement park, and its pride & joy is the famous Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, just a few hundred feet from the Beach.

Mission Beach has a large number of tasty restaurants & hoppin’ bars. The Beach itself, and the beautiful people that play & sunbathe on it, will EASILY compete – both in beauty & pizzazz – with any other beach on the Planet. In the Author’s opinion, in such a competition, Mission Beach would certainly take the cake. If you haven’t figured out by now… we kind of LOVE Mission Beach, and encourage you to check it out if you haven’t already.
