As we come upon the 2020 Holiday Season, we may need to start getting ready to celebrate in unique ways that will keep the entire family safe and happy while having loads of fun. Staying at home for an extended period of time may seem a little boring but all it really takes is imagination and creativity to have an absolutely epic Holiday. Here are a couple different ideas that you and the family can all do together while snuggled around the fireplace!
#1 Make A Commemorative Ornament/ Decoration
With so much craziness happening in 2020, the least to say is that this entire year is worth remembering whether that memory serves as nostalgia or a good lesson. What better way to celebrate the end of the year than to create an ornament to remember it. There are multiple different ways to create this ornament from creating something out of paper mache to baking a salt-dough ornament! Make a challenge out of it and see who in your family can create the best ornament!
#2 Snuggle Up With A Good Book Or Movie
Even for those of us, that happen to be away from family this year. We can celebrate in doing the little things and one of those is grabbing your favorite Holiday themed book and digging in! There are so many to choose from childhood classics such as A Grinch Stole Christmas or The Polar Express. There are so many options to choose when it comes to Holiday based media that you can actually keep this celebration going all year around! Don’t forget the side of eggnog either!
#3 Mail A Care Package/ Gift Basket To A Loved One
One of the best ways to celebrate the holidays when you can’t physically be around the ones you love is to remind them that you are still thinking about them. What better way to make them feel special than with a gift basket! It can even be as simple as sending someone all of their favorite snacks so that they do not go hungry over the Holidays! Maybe even put in a hand written note just to add a little extra! There are so many ways to make it special and individualized!
#4 Host A Virtual Party
Something new that you can try out with all of your friends is hosting a virtual party over a platform like Zoom. Just because you guys can’t all physically be in the same room together doesn’t mean that you guys can’t celebrate together. Grab some party favors, turn on a Zoom call, and call all of your best friends and buddies. Get a few conversation starters ready as well as a few party games to get the party grooving!
#5 Cook A Holiday Feast
You don’t need to have an entire party planned out to make a feast fit for a king. Like most other Holidays, dinner is the main event of Christmas (maybe besides unwrapping the presents) and you don’t need other people to eat dinner. Bust out the back nine and create the meal that you’ve always dreamt of. You want roast beef with a marshmallow sauce on Christmas? That makes one of us but more power to you! Go for it and cook your dreams!
