The madness of Black Friday may be over but come Monday the crazy online shopping will commence! Cyber Monday will be on November 28th and is estimated to create billions of dollars in sales.

As we all have seen Black Friday shopping can become quite intense with everyone wanting to get as much as they can for the best price possible.  In 2008 it became so intense that one person was trampled to death by 2,000 shoppers at WalMart. Cyber Mondays allows everyone the ability to buy products from the safety of their home or work where they don’t have to deal with massive crowds and angry shoppers.

Cyber Monday was created in 2005 by a marketing team at Shop.org.  The day has grown to be one of the biggest shopping days of the year. It was created to increase sales and boost online shopping, this way it provides online retailers a way to match the shopping sales of Black Friday.  It has seen so much success because people can do their holiday shopping without having to leave the comfort of their home.  A 2016 study predicted 40% of Americans were going to shop on cyber Monday whereas 39% were going to shop on Black Friday.  In 2015 Cyber Monday produced 3 billion dollars in sales. People utilize this day so that they can avoid massive crowds as well as have more options on things to buy.

Holiday season is officially here and all of us at San Diego Sailing Tours wishes you a safe season! Happy shopping!
