For this week’s Feature Friday, we’ll explore the focus of San Diego events in the San Diego Convention Center. Located in the middle of Downtown San Diego, the Convention Center hosts several world-famous events every year, including, currently, San Diego Comic Con.
San Diego Comic Con, the world’s largest media convention, is hosted at the Convention Center every year, bringing visitors to San Diego from all over the world. Additionally, the Convention Center has hosted other annual events, like the San Diego International Auto Show, as well as special events, like the 1996 Republican National Convention.
Behind the Convention Center is the Embarcadero Marina Park, where the San Diego Symphony hosts its annual Bayside Summer Nights concert series, under the stars and on the backdrop of the San Diego skyline.
The Convention Center is also located at the edge of the Gaslamp District, where the best restaurants and bars in San Diego can be found. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Petco Park, where the San Diego Padres take on other Major League Baseball teams throughout the summer.
