Our featured image is a lovely capture of Lau Lea, one of the newest members of our fleet. She is a Cal Jensen which is classic sailing yacht known for one of the best racing yachts back in the 60’s and 70’s. Her name means peaceful and happy, and she certainly knows how to cruise calmly along the Bay. Her trim is a lovely deep forest green and her hull is a lovely white.
This photo is also a classic example of our sailing tours that depart in the day on a group sail. A young couple can enjoy their drinks on the front bow, while a family hangs out with the captain. Although we only see the moms, their children are probably asking the Captain lots of questions about sailing and enjoying their snacks.
In the backdrop is Point Loma and Shelter Island. Often right on the Bay are marina’s, fisheries, and restaurants that easy to access. San Diego has a unique crescent shape Bay, so it’s easy to see most of San Diego no matter where you’re sailing.
