Don’t miss the following fun activities this weekend happening here in San Diego. Enjoy San Diego’s busy holiday life whether you’re visiting or a local.
December Nights
From 12/1/2017-12/2/2017
Each year the city of San Diego orchestrates one of the largest gatherings in Balboa Park. Beautiful lights decorate the entire historical site. Live music, performers, and vendors operate the space creating a festive atmosphere. The event is free, however, due to its popularity we recommend taking public transportation or shuttle. Last year over 350,000 people showed up! Use this link to find out where you can catch free shuttles or buses you would need to take. Wear comfy shoes, dress in warm layers, and bring a little extra to spend on holiday shopping to get locally made gifts and support artisans, small business, and museums.
Island Food and Beer Festival
12/2/2017 from 12 pm -4 pm at the Waterfront Park
Enjoy Islander food tasting with local breweries down at the Waterfront. DJ’s will kick off the party, and don’t miss out on offers from vendors as well. Promotions will benefit inner-city high school students with scholarships who can’t afford college. Find tickets here.
SONO Fest and Chili Cookoff
12/3/17 from 11 am to 5 pm between 32nd and Thorn street.
Experience chili, beer, food trucks and more at this local festival. Don’t miss the kid’s area where they can play and their faces painted. Live music will be performed by local bands, and get your holiday shopping on from local artisans, especially from the large ceramic presence. Benefits will go to McKinley Elementary to support it’s ceramic, music, dance, garden, art, and Spanish programs.
Of course, San Diego Sailing Tours is still operating throughout the holidays. Ask us about our emailing list to receive exclusive offers and be in the know on how you can join holiday events with us!
