Beginning tonight at PETCO Park in downtown San Diego, the Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the San Diego Padres for the first game of a three-game series. Padres-Dodgers games are always highly-anticipated events in San Diego, as the teams play to represent a classic southern California rivalry between San Diego and Los Angeles. These match-ups always make for extremely entertaining baseball and a way for San Diegans to cheer on their favorite team.

The rivalry between the Padres and the Dodgers has existed since the Padres began their first season in 1969. Historically, the Dodgers have often come out of the match-ups better, but the Padres have been able to pull off some spectacular wins in recent years. One of the most exciting aspects of the Padres-Dodgers rivalry is the level of enthusiasm that radiates down the streets of San Diego during the games.

This current series against the L.A. Dodgers runs from July 9-11 at PETCO Park. Be sure to check out some of San Diego’s fantastic waterfront attractions while you’re downtown!
