The American Heart Association is coming to San Diego for the Heart and Stroke Walk which will be happening at Balboa Park (6th and Laurel). They are aiming to raise a grand total of $1,100,000 and they have already raised $807,800. This money will be going towards research in efforts to help fight disease and stroke. 610,000 people die from heart disease every year we must begin to find a way to properly combat this ailment.
Depending on exactly how much you are able to raise you can win prizes from a Heart Walk shirt to a redeemable certificate you can use on a piece of American Heart Association gear. This walk will be starting at beautiful Balboa Park and continues onto the CA-163 North. After we will be returning to the Expo Are via Robinson and 6th Ave. You will be able to find parking at the Inspiration Point Parking Lot.
This walk altogether is a 5k or 3.1 mile non-competitive walk. There is already an estimated 10,000 participants to come out and help the effort to fight heart disease. Come out and join us on this amazing walk around beautiful San Diego, there will be something for everyone from kid’s activities to a food tent.
