We here at San Diego Sailing Tours are constantly in the ocean, whether it be sailing our vessels during the day or relaxing by the beach. Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of our favorite water sports to do here in San Diego, and for good reason. San Diego was recently named the top destination internationally for Paddleboarding!
San Diego is often cited as a premier paddleboarding destination because of the variety in locations that are available for paddleboarding. There are spots like NTC Liberty Station or Mission Bay, where the water is very calm and a great place for beginners to find their footing (no pun intended). But there are also beaches such as Cardiff or Oceanside where the swells can get larger, giving more experienced paddleboarders a bit of a challenge.
The abundance of good weather and local paddleboarding tradition are also strong draws for San Diego as a top paddleboarding destination. This summer, San Diego is the perfect place to enjoy the ocean, in whichever way you choose!
