Earlier this month, San Diego announced its first official beer of the city. 72 and Hoppy, a Session IPA created by Bay City Brewery, is a reflection of the city’s warm, hoppy, tropical, and flavorful unique vibe. The decision was made by Chief Operating Officer of the San Diego Tourism Authority, Kerri Kapich, a move which embraces San Diego’s presence as one of the top microbrewery capitols of the US.
San Diego is known for its sunny skies, beautiful bay, and diverse culture which is strongly influenced by microbreweries. If you’ve never been to one, many create distinct atmospheres while delivering fresh and flavorful beverages. They have a tendency to pull away from the Dive Bar and Sports Bar climate, while still creating a sensation of space and sophistication. So while you’re in San Diego, don’t forget to create a memorable experience by tasting a uniquely crafted local beer right from the tap.
