This weekend, we hope you celebrated Veterans Day well. San Diego hosted its annual Veterans Day Parade in Down Town San Diego right along Harbor Dr. While many people enjoy the work holiday, barbeques, and spending time with family, others spent it remembering why we have those privileges.
If you know the history of San Diego then you know that it’s military presence is strong and rooted in our community. Many people who live here are either currently stationed, or were in the past and fell in love with this city. The old trading ships and the U.S.S. Midway continue to be a popular attraction along with the artistic installations near the waterfront honoring veterans year round. You will often see at least one military ship or vessels cruising along the San Diego Bay if you decide to watch for sailing.
There is no denying, this is a military town, so if you haven’t done so already, thank a veteran for their service, they shouldn’t be too hard to find in this city!
