Every year old schooners from around the world gather in the port of San Diego for a family fun event. Thousands of downtown onlookers have a chance to board these old flagships and take a tour along the bay. The public gets to watch the parade of sails and cannon battles, and enjoy the fairs along the pier with artisans and food vendors. For the first time ever, the San Salvador will be open to public tours along with other magnificent Tall Ships.

This event last for several days between Aug 31 and Sept.4th, giving plenty to do this Labor Day weekend. It’s run by the Maritime Museum which will transform the Embarcadero into a nautical theme park, and also gives tours of the State’s official Tall Ship, the Californian, and the Star of India.

Of course, San Diego Sailing Tours will be conducting our more intimate tours on vintage sailing yachts, restored from the 60’s and 70’s. Be a part of the action and sail along the Bay with the Parade of Sails while sipping on wine. Below are more details on events scheduled for the Festival of Sail and when we will be conduction charters.
