As Spring rolls into action, here are the top things that you can do this week to get the most of the local festivities!

#1 San Diego Zoo’s Yaycation

Location: San Diego Zoo

Time: Everyday 9am- 7pm, April 6- April 21

The San Diego Zoo’s annual spring time event is coming back into town! This is a perfect experience for the entire family! Bring out the kids and take them around to see special and exotic animals, live entertainment, and much more! In addition there will be expert zookeepers posted up at different exhibits at different times throughout the day; ask them what makes you curious about your favorite animals!

 

 

#2 First Port, First City

Location: Embarcadero Marina Park North, 500 Kettner Boulevard, San Diego, 92101

Time: Thursday, April 11, 2019, noon to 1:30 pm

In 2019, the city of San Diego is celebrating the 250th anniversary. There will be events going on all year dedicated to commemorating how San Diego came to be. On April 11, we will be celebrating the San Antonio, a Spanish sailing ship, that arrived in San Diego Bay 250 years ago exactly on April 11. This event will be brining together the Kumeyaay Nation, public officials, the Maritime Museum and many more honored guests to mark the day that San Diego began. Come out and experience exactly how this great city came to be!

 

#3 International Dance Spring Festival

Location: Balboa Park Club and Ballroom,2144 Pan American Road West, San Diego, 92101

Time: Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, 2019, noon to 5pm

The International Dance clubs of Balboa Park will be hosting their annual Spring Festival. Each practice will showcase their master dance teachers in international song and dance. In addition to the live entertainment, there will also be vendors selling arts, crafts, cloths, and other spring gifts all around the village marketplace.
