We love San Diego for so many reasons, but certainly at the top of the list is that San Diego is a fantastic place to sail every day. The weather is almost always perfect, and even for days on the gloomier side, sailing only has to be delayed for the most extreme of weather. Sailing conditions are also exceptionally good in San Diego, with enough wind and current for us to go under full sail on most charters, but gentle enough so that everyone can enjoy a day on the water.
San Diego plays host to thousands of civilian power and sailboats as well as the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet. Sailing is a part of the culture here in San Diego and most of us grow up with some connection to the water, whether that be sailing, surfing, or just enjoying the beach. In a place where the weather is often perfect year-round and access to the water is so easy, it’s only natural that sailing has grown into a lifestyle for many of us San Diegans.
With the sun shining and the sails at full mast, it’s hard to resist the call of sailing on the San Diego Bay!
